After four unsuccessful attempts, Kimberly finally got to come "up close and personal" with the Great White Shark. We went cage diving in Mossel Bay South Africa just off of Seal Island. Unfortunately, the water was too murky to get any underwater pictures. Visibility was less than 2 feet, which even made seeing the sharks underwater a challenge. Kimberly still stuck it out, in 50 deg water, for close to 2 hrs to maximize her experience. Myself and our friend Bronwin gave up after about 45 mins. She is already planning another trip in hopes of better visibility! We were just disappointed her Dad Norm missed it. He was with us in February on one of the four failed attempts and we know how "excited" he was!

Both still happy before hypothermia set in!

Kimberly was the lone survivor in the cage

You can just see the corner of Seal Island in the background of this picture

Bronwin taking video and me still pictures..after warming up!

Most of the sharks that "visited" were between 8-12 feet in length. However, one was closer to 14 ft.

The bait was used not to feed but to lure them close to the cage for viewing

A "birds eye view" from inside the cage. Seal Island in the background.

They came very close, close enough to touch. A couple even made contact with the cage

They are allowed to attack the bait but don't actually eat it.

The site was awesome from the water but almost just as exciting from the boat

Their teeth are incredible!
